Russian stocks may slightly grow on positive sentiment, oil rebound

MOSCOW, Sep 6 (PRIME) -- Russian stocks may remain flat or slightly grow at the opening on Friday amid a positive foreign background and an oil price rebound, analysts said.

“The foreign background is positive in the morning – the Asian floors are in plus, the U.S. futures are gaining 0.25%, oil is rebounding from yesterday’s lows. That’s why we will open around yesterday’s close or even with a small growth. But neither we, nor the West will have strength to continue the upward trend,” Alor Broker analyst Alexei Antonov said.

Investors will follow the central bank’s decision on the key rate and a speech of Chairwoman Elvira Nabiullina later in the day, Antonov said. The analyst believes the regulator has all grounds to cut the rate by 0.25 percentage points: stabilization of inflation and the necessity of stimulating the country’s economy.
